Biography

Independent Hip Hop artist from Hoboken, NJ. Self proclaimed emcee, Phat Rob’s music takes influence from artists such as Big Pun, & Big L. Born & raised in the Housing projects of Hoboken, Phat Rob’s love for music began at an early age. His influence to Hip Hop culture came from the movie Beat Street. As a child, Phat Rob would listen to Big Pun’s compilation album released after his death, Endangered Species, on a CD player. Though Phat Rob’s sound is primarily an underground sound, he has shown versatility in his music with songs such as “Chicken Scratch Thoughts” Feat. Chaseland, “Funkadelic” & “Lights, Cameras, Action” Feat. Big Mike & Pootie.

Hunger Games

Released on October 31st, 2020, Hunger Games was a mixtape years in the making. Phat Rob considers this to be his first official project to be put together. This mixtape was planned for years before it came to fruition. Phat Rob has classic records on this project including “Incarcerated Scarfaces” Feat. Kyy. Released on September 1st, 2018, was 1996 EP. During this era, five artists came together to start the 310 records movement. Phat Rob, Kyy, Big Mike, Gunner Montana, and Big Money Zook. During this time, 310 records released numerous projects, singles, videos, and a day in the life type of YouTube series. With Phat Rob’s label mates releasing a slew of material, he put together 1996. Titled after the year he was born, Phat Rob decided to call it 1996 signifying the official beginning of him releasing projects, relating to the beginning of his life in the year 1996 **COVER ART FACTS: The cover is a baby photo of Phat Rob, in his childhood home.
